Effects of chlorpromazine on the picrotoxin-convulsion
|

Abstract
|
|
|
About the effects of intraperitoneally injected chlorpromazine (given30 minutes prior to picrotoxin) to both the time reguired for` the onset of convulsion and´ the rate of death of mice by the intraperitoneal injection of picrotoxin(5xpg/kg), the following results were observed.
(i) Small-amount of chlorpromazine (0.2 neg./kg)´,shortend the time rgnireed for the onset, of ´the picrotoxin-convulsion significantly without giving any effect to the rate of death.
(ii) Moderate amount of chlorpromazine (1mg/kg) showed no effect on the picrotoxin-cov ulsnion.
(iii) Large amount of chlorpromazine (5mg/kg- 20mg/kg) prolonged the´ time required for the onset of convulion and at the same time decreased the rate of death significantly.
